Tom Ryan, DDS
Dr. Tom Ryan, DDS, has deep roots in Oak Forest, Illinois, where he grew up and attended St. Damian Grammar School before graduating from Oak Forest High School. He continued his education at Loyola University, earning both his bachelor’s degree and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with honors. His academic excellence led to his induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a prestigious dental honor society that recognizes the top ten graduates in each dental school class. Additionally, Dr. Ryan has contributed to dental education as an Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroanatomy at Loyola.
Dedicated to continuous learning, Dr. Ryan has accumulated over 600 hours of advanced coursework to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry. This commitment allows him to provide patients with the most comfortable and effective treatments available. His expertise has been recognized beyond the dental chair—he has been a consultant for dental articles in the Chicago Sun-Times and the Southtown Star, as well as a fellow in the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He has even been featured in an ABC News interview for his insights into the field. Beyond his professional work, Dr. Ryan is passionate about giving back to the community. He actively donates his time and skills to assist individuals who have fallen through the cracks of the healthcare system, ensuring they receive the care they need.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ryan enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Cheryl, with whom he has shared over 30 years of marriage. They take great pride in their three children—Rebecca, a music teacher in Schaumburg, IL, and Steven, who recently graduated from Illinois State University with degrees in finance and insurance. Their youngest, Colleen, is part of the team at North Creek Dental Care. As a grandfather, Dr. Ryan cherishes moments with his four grandchildren. When he’s not in the office, you can often find him on the golf course, staying up to date with advancements in dentistry, or cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams—especially the Cubs!
